Rita Briner is the owner and originally purchased her shop in 1995. What began as a humble little shop with 250 bolts of fabric has grown to a shop with over 10,000+ bolts, plus wools, needlecrafts and all the other notions and supplies you'd ever need in a location just down the sidewalk from the original shop.
Rita's shop is a nationally-renowned shop with a strong reputation for customer service and teaching abilities. Her shop was selected as a Top Ten Shop in American Patchwork and Quilting in the Spring of 2006. It's an incredible honor to live up to and Rita and her staff have done just that.
Rita stresses the basics at her shop for new and veteran quilters. Teaching is so important to her that she hosts the Primitives of the Midwest event every June where she sponsors up to 17 national level instructors to teach quilters from across the country.
Rita says the best part of running her shop is meeting all the wonderful people and making long lasting friendships, not only with her customers, but the teachers and designers that visit the shop. She tell her customers to "take your time making your quilt and enjoy the process - finishing a quilt is not a race - rather something to be savored".
So, if you're driving along US-50 through Missouri and come anywhere near Lee's Summit, you'll want to jump off at the SW 3rd Street exit and see the great selections at Quilter's Station.............and tell them Jeff and Mary sent ya.........
